How do We Differ from other Education Opportunities?
Morning Sun Adult Education is about building community through cooperative living and learning. We offer classes in English-language literacy, mathematics for consumer and job skills, reading, and creative writing. We also offer tutoring to high school and college students in composition and mathematics.
Highly-qualified teachers use practical lessons and materials, visuals, repetition, games and peer assistance. Classes are interactive. Many very effective literacy programs are conducted in the client's home, on a one-to-one basis. Other non-profit literacy programs in the Albuquerque area also conduct classes. We are not offering a better program; we are simply another opportunity. These classes are taught and conducted exclusively in English, and we use proven, practical materials. We encourage adults of any first languages to try these literacyclasses that offer group activities. Even though the endeavor to learn or relearn is serious stuff, each opportunity here is fun and builds confidence.
The price is right: $5.00 walk-in fee per class or workshop.
If a student wants one-on-one tutoring, the cost is $20 per hour.
This school is non-accredited. We are a private business. You cannot earn state or district credits or degrees here. However, you will not be tested, and we have no attendance policy. YOUR LEARNING IS PERSONALLY GUARANTEED.
Business Owners: We can accomodate your needs. If you want to discuss having one or more classes conducted at your premises, or if you want to work out a reimbursement of class-cost for an employee, we can do this. We can help your business by using your own business-related materials to teach English skills, reading, or math skills. We will gladly keep track of students' progress and issue certificates upon successful completion of important steps!
Please contact us by email or phone. We are anxious to know what you have questions about or how we can help you. We are here for you.
CLASS & WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:
Something New to Announce: Because so many local residents requested art workshops, we decided to go ahead with scheduling them. Sometimes we'll be fortunate to have a master artist's assistance; sometimes we'll be working and learning together without that special assistance. We will have fun!! Whether you want to work with pencil, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, or play dough, bring your materials and join us for creative and cooperative learning. We have a great space to work together: very clean, comfortable, and well-lit. Please call for more details and to sign up. Adults only, please. Prices for these workshops are the same as for classes.
Art Workshops
Tuesdays
6:00-7:30 P.M.- Aspiring-Artists' Group: The artist and retired art critic from Florida, Robert L. Martin, is now available to instruct beginning and master artists in technique. We'll have lots of fun while we learn and practice together. Show up with $5 and your own sketch pencils and paper. Please call to sign up and inquire about planned lessons.
We are trying to form group-lessons in acoustic and electric guitar. These lessons will be conducted by an experienced teacher, Bill Palmer. He has successfully taught guitar in groups of ten and more. An inspiring and enthusiastic individual, Palmer will share his musical knowledge and guarantee that any student who completes a series of seven weeks' lessons can play at least one solo song on her guitar. The cost will be 7 (seven) lessons for $60. Please inquire times as we continue to sign up students for these classes.

Forrest's art is done on recycled furniture. His imagery reflects what we know as graffiti and urban art. The furniture is both beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and functional.
Even though the furniture has been recycled and restored, this furniture's artwork is brand new, and these are listed as new. The paint is protected with polyurethane.
As you can see here, Forrest paints every square inch of space on his furniture. This is truly a one-of-a-kind coffee table; functional and beautiful.
